GraceKids is an ministry of Grace, a United Methodist Congregation. At it’s core, the church is intentional in strengthening families by making and growing highly committed disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. What better way to accomplish that mission than to pour His love into little ones to help them grow and develop in an atmosphere of Christian love.
Just as Grace works to empower our congregation to walk in relationship with our savior, GraceKids will intentionally help little ones see His handiworks in the world around them, and be His arms to nurture and guide them as they grow.
At Grace Kids, we embrace early childhood research that shows children develop more thinking skills and brain connections in the first five years than in the rest of their lives. We believe childhood presents a “once in a lifetime” opportunity to help children form foundations that will serve them well for the rest of their lives. Our curriculum is based on the works of Piaget, Erikson, Garner, and Reggio Emelia. This curriculum uses research-based enrichments and provocations to stimulate children’s curiosity, thinking and problem-solving skills. Our objectives tie to developmental milestones, and early learning standards for Alabama. Our teachers use enrichments and play-based learning to facilitate growth in a wide variety of skill areas; social, emotional, spiritual, intellectual and academic. All of our content presents from a Christian world view. Beginning in the infant room and continuing to the preschool classroom, we build language and literacy with strong teacher/child interactions. We incorporate STEAM daily with small group learning and projects. Our fine arts programs include music, drama, art and dance.
